Export deal settlement

Trade commission on agricultural export deals

Trade commission is the fee MOH Capital Overseas records when an export deal is completed. It is separate from seller membership and from mandi price data. The default split is 3% to the sourcing agent and 1% to the platform, both on the USD value of the finished deal.

3% agent commission

Default share for the sourcing agent who locked the buyer to the deal. Calculated as deal value in USD multiplied by 0.03.

1% platform fee

Default MOH Capital fee on the same completed USD value. Calculated as deal value multiplied by 0.01.

Deal path from submission to commission

  1. 1. Submit

The supplier submits a deal with product, variety, quantity in metric tons, USD price per metric ton, location and photos.

  2. 2. Review

MOH Capital approves or rejects the deal. A rejection includes a reason. Nothing is invoiced on a rejected deal.

  3. 3. Lock a buyer

An approved deal can be locked to a named buyer, company and country. Locking is what ties the lot to that buyer.

  4. 4. Advance

The buyer advance is recorded in USD. A new deal starts at 25% advance. The desk accepts an advance from 20% to 30% of deal value unless those limits are changed in server settings.

  5. 5. Release and dispatch

After the advance is received, MOH Capital can release it to the farmer. Dispatch is allowed only after that release. Shipping documents are then uploaded.

  6. 6. Final payment and commission

The balance is recorded as the final payment. When the deal is marked complete, commission is calculated on the full USD deal value and stored against that deal.

What is not commissioned

Mandi prices on Live Market Price are public market rates, not a commission. Membership fees on membership plans buy lead credits. They are not deducted from an export deal. A cancelled deal stops before the completion step, so it does not write the completion commission.

Questions about commission

What is the trade commission rate?

The platform default is 3% for the sourcing agent and 1% as the MOH Capital platform fee. Both are percentages of the completed deal value in US dollars. A 100,000 USD deal therefore books 3,000 USD agent commission and 1,000 USD platform fee at those defaults. The live server can override the percentages, so the figure on a finished deal is the one stored when that deal is completed.

When is commission charged?

Commission is written when an admin marks the deal completed, after advance, dispatch and final payment. A pending, rejected or cancelled deal does not create that commission record.

Who pays the advance?

The buyer pays the advance on a locked deal. The default advance on a new deal is 25% of the deal value. MOH Capital records the advance, and can release it to the farmer before dispatch.

Who this applies to

Suppliers submit deals after they have a seller account. Buyers named on a locked deal pay the advance and the final balance. Read the seller guide or the buyer guide, or ask a question on Contact Us.
